New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) The ruling BJP and the government are likely to step up its demand for exemplary actions against Congress lawmakers T N Prathapan and Dean Kuriakose for their 'threatening gestures' against Union Minister Smriti Irani in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
Sources said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi is likely to submit a formal plea before Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla under Rule 374 seeking action against the two Congress MPs for their alleged misconduct.
Lok Sabha could not transact any business in the post-lunch session after Mr Joshi and several BJP lawmakers and also Biju Janata Dal MP Anubhav Mohanty and Bhagwant Singh Mann of AAP demanded that the two Congress members - both from Kerala - be made to tender apology and in the event they do no do so, the erring members ought to be summoned or suspended.
