New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) The much-awaited GST legislation, including the Central GST and Integrated GST may be brought before the Lok Sabha for the crucial legislative clearance on March 27. The BJP sources said the issue figured prominently at the BJP MPs meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today. The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is likely to table the four legislation including the Compensation Law for implementation of the uniform Goods and Services Tax. The government is keen to roll out the uniform tax law from July 1. The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cleared the four supplementary GST legislation -- CGST, IGST, UTGST and Compensation Law -- for introduction and passage of Parliament during the on-going Budget session. Mr Jaitley has again emphasised the urgency to pass the GST laws during the on-going session saying the Centre and the states will otherwise lose their right to collect indirect taxes after September 15. BJP sources said at the meeting with party MPs from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, Andaman Nicobar, Dadar Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu; it was underlined that the members should take message to the people on important legislation like the GST - which will prove gamechanger in the long run. BJP MPs have also been advised to study key facets of the uniform taxation norms and how it offers a win-win situation to the states and also the consumers in the ultimate. During the meeting, the Prime Minister exhorted the party colleagues to work harder to fulfill the aspirations of the people. UNI DEVN PY RJ 2114
