New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) The Government is constantly monitoring the proposed Bills on curbing H1B visas and is in touch with the US Government in this regard, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said today. Replying to a Supplementary during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Ms Swaraj said at present there was no change in the immigration provision while four proposals were pending in the US Congress related to the change. She said the Government is in constant touch with the US Authorities of its possible impact on Indian interest, adding, 'India is trying to explain to the American Authorities that Indians in the US were "not stealing jobs" but hugely contributing to their economy.' The Minister said the change in H1B visa norms were continuous process and the present change was a part of that process. Replying to another questions, Ms Swaraj said the US had given a list of 271 people who were illegally living there and a probe is underway on their nationality. After that the next course of action would be taken. She said no country has the official information of those people who were living illegally but there were just estimates. Since 2014, some 576 Indians living illegally in America have been issued travel documents, she said. UNI RBE AE SNU 1517
