New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) In order to provide remunerative prices to farmers for their produce, the Government has directed National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) to procure pulses directly from the farmers. ' So far, NAFED has procured around 4.5 lakh MTs of various pulses such as Arhar/Toor, Moong and Urad in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat,' the NAFED said in a statement. It is estimated that around 10 lakh MTs of pulses will be procured for the buffer from the farmers in the country by April, it added. UNI NY SB 1353
