Governor to visit freedom fighters

Bengaluru, Aug 6 (UNI) Contrary to the tradition of inviting freedom fighters to the Raj Bhavan for high tea, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot will meet them at their homes on the occasion of the Quit India movement celebration this year.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will accompany Gehlot. The Governor will visit the homes of 101-year-old Nagabhushan Rao of Malleshwaram and R Narayanamma of Halasuru.
He has also instructed the Chief Secretary to direct Deputy Commissioners to visit freedom fighters’ homes.
