Governor's message to Speaker trigger uproar in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly

Bengaluru, Jul 18 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Assembly witnessed an uproar scene following a message sent by Governor Vajubhai Vala directing the Speaker to ensure that the Confidence Motion moved by Chief Minister earlier in the day be decided before the end of the day.
Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar informed the members that he has received a message from the Governor and read out the message, which stated that Assembly should dispose off the Confidence motion, before the end of the day.
Parliamentary Affair Minister, Krishna Byregowda, speaking on the issue, said that the message sent by the Governor is in tune with the demand made by the Opposition BJP members in the House who met him and sought his (Governor) intervention.
Former Minister H K Patil (Congress) took strong objection to the Governor's message and said that "the Governor shall not interfere in the proceedings of the Assembly".
Countering him, BJP members Basavaraj Bommai and Suresh Kumar strongly defended the Governor and said that "Governor have every right to send message to the Speaker".
The Congress members, who were enraged with the Governor's action, had raised slogans against the Governor and had a heated arguments with the Opposition members.
As the commotion prevailed, the Deputy Speaker Krishna Reddy, who was on the Chair, adjourned the House for 30 minutes.
