Patna, Jul 21 (UNI) Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, former CM Rabri Devi and host of other dignitaries expressed their grief over the untimely demise of LJP MP from Samastipur Ramchandra Paswan, younger brother of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
Mr Tandon in his condolence message said Mr Paswan continued to make concerted efforts throughout his life to protect the interest of oppressed sections of the society and social harmony. He said Mr Paswan`s untimely death caused an irreparable loss to Bihar in particular.
The governor prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and adequate strength to his family members to withstand the loss.
Chief Minister Mr Kumar said Mr Paswan was a seasoned politician and noted social worker. He said Mr Paswan was very simple and friendly in nature and his popularity was huge in his constituency. Mr Paswan`s death left a great void not only in the social field but also in the political field, CM added.
Mr Kumar said Mr Paswan`s last rites would be performed with full state honours and also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and adequate strength to his family members and admirers to withstand the loss.
Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi expressing his deep sorrow over the death of Mr Paswan said it was an irreparable loss. He said Mr Paswan, who was elected to Lok Sabha four times was always worried for the welfare of poor, oppressed people and youths. Mr Paswan was closely associated with common people and deeply linked to his soil, he added.
Mr Modi prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and adequate strength to his family members and lakhs of supporters to withstand the loss.
