Governor Ganga Prasad Felicitates 6 Army unit

Gangtok, Apr 20 (UNI) Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad felicitated Indian Army units here, today at New Rajbhawan.
Six Indian Army units, representing 60 serving in different fields were presented citations.
Also present were GOC 17th Mountain Division, Major General R.C.Tiwari SM, Black Cat Div. While GOC 27th Mountain Div.Maj.Gen Ajay Kumar Verma, all the way from Kalimpong also graced the occasion.
The programme was marked by Army Band playing National Anthem.
Addressing the gathering Ganga Prasad expressed appreciation for the bravery and courage of Indian Army. And expressed hope that they would continue to serve the nation with equal dedication in future also. And will help in nation building. ‘They are the ones making the border secure and defending it day and night. He praised Army for helping the civil population in State, particularly Tourists and civilians who get stranded in Yumthang, North Sikkim and Nathula, border, as also recently.
''It has been observed that the Indian soldiers are better than others and much ahead of others,'' said Governor. Their contributions he said were worth appreciating.
Those who were presented Citation included 3rd Batallion Sikh-Light unit, 158 (automatic) Regiment, 60 Engineers Regiment, 317 Field Hospital, 130 RC Company and Indo-Tibet Border Force. Brigadier Ajay Mishra thanked the Governor.
