Governor, Chief Minister Attend Seminar on Criminal Justice Administration in Imphal

Imphal, Jul 18 (UNI) Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday attended the inaugural session of a two-day seminar on Criminal Justice Administration at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) in Imphal, where speakers highlighted the need for a fair, efficient and technology-driven justice delivery system.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bhalla said the administration of criminal justice is the cornerstone of a democratic society governed by the rule of law. He said it protects the rights of citizens, safeguards public order, ensures accountability and strengthens public confidence in constitutional institutions.
Referring to the new criminal laws, the Governor said the Nyaya Sanhitas seek to deliver speedy justice by placing greater emphasis on the rights and dignity of victims, encouraging the use of digital technology, prescribing time-bound investigation and trial, and strengthening scientific methods of investigation.
