New Delhi, Jul 22 (UNI) Google today dedicated its doodle to Bollywood’s legend singer Mukesh, on his 93rd birth anniversary. The doodle shows a handsome smiling man with neatly combed wavy hair with microphone in his hand and a romantic scene from Yash Chopra’s iconic movie, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ on its India homepage. Mukesh’s voice was discovered by Motital, a distant relative and a former Bollywood character actor, who brought Mukesh to Mumbai. Born in Delhi on July 22, 1923, Mukesh Chand Mathur became the voice of many Indian actors throughout his singing career. Motital arranged for the young talented Mukesh to be trained under Pandit Jagannath Prasad and later in 1941, he even bagged a singer-actor’s role in film ‘Nirdosh’. Mukesh first rose to fame with Raj Kapoor's Andaz in 1949 and soon acclaimed as the 'voice of actor Raj' 'Pehli Nazar' of Motilal was the first movie in which Mukesh sang his first playback song ‘Dil jalta hai to jalne de’. Soon in short period of time Mukesh came to be ranked alongside two other great playback singers, Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. With his melodies voice he earned himself a nickname "The Man with the Golden Voice". In 1974, Mukesh received National Film Award for best male playback singer for the song 'Kai Baar Yuhi Dekha Hai' from 'Rajnigandha'. The legend's memorable songs include 'Kabhie Kabhie', 'Kya Khoob Lagti Ho', 'Chand Si Mehbooba Ho Meri', 'Phool Tumhe Bheja Hai Khat Mei', 'Jo Tumko Ho Pasand" and "Ek Din Bik Jayega'. UNI SHS JW0310
