Goans to benefit from International Trade Training: Dr Jagat Shah

Panaji, Oct 21 (UNI) With an aim to retain Goan youth in the state by providing employment and self-employment opportunities, Ahmedabad-headquartered Global Network Institute (GNI) on Monday announced its first training programme to be held in December 2019.
Addressing a press conference in the city, Founder and Managing Director of Global Networks Dr Jagat Shah said, ''This training programme is ideal for manufacturers, traders, professionals, family owned businesses and students who can contribute in taking Goa’s business and industry to a different level.''
According to him, training programmes were conducted in India as well as overseas benfitting 4,046 students in India and 400 students abroad. Out of them 1200 had become exporters, he added.
Dr Shah said with the setting up of GNI, Goans were most likely to get empowered by their training imparted through subjects like international market strategy, games on market research, selecting trade partners, online e-commerce exports, export pricing, FOREX, shipping procedure, and other practical sessions to establish Goan businesses and take them global.
With the success of Vibrant Expo series - a project started from the state of Gujarat, Global Network Institute was looking for similar results in the state of Goa, he said, adding the goal was ‘to empower youth, women, SME’s and corporates of Goa to help them explore global markets. The training imparted at their Centre would only add to international trade expertise-thereby increasing global trade success, he said.
Dr Shah said the Goan youth had been migrating to European countries and other parts of the country for better career prospects while by creating employment in the state it was possible to contribute to the state’s development.
''Despite being a small state geographically, Goa has the potential of representing their work on an international domain. The training programme covers a wide breadth of international trade topics that will help you gain a competitive lead in the challenging and composite world of exports. While there is no age and education bar to gain entry into the course, knowledge of English is essential,'' he said.
Dr Shah said Vibrant Goa would help to bring investment into the state and create exporters out of Goan companies.
“It will create a wonderful opportunity for Goan companies, sitting at home to take their business and skills worldwide,'' he added.
