Goa wants to seek inspiration from PM's constituency for waste management techniques

Panaji, Oct 22 (UNI) In order to finalise a technology to dispose off waste at Sonsodo, the biggest garbage dump site in South Goa, the Goa Government is mulling to seek inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi and Delhi Government.
Speaking to reporters at State Secretariat at Porvorim after a meeting of high powered committee appointed to address the management of the dump site, State Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo said the state government was planning to set up three alternative biomachination units on the lines of those existing in Delhi and Varanasi for treating garbage collected day-to-day.
"We will send one person to see what is happening in Varanasi or Delhi... their bio-methanation process. We have decided to set up three small plants and Chief Minister has agreed to that. While two plants will be set up by Margao Municipal Council, one will be fund by Goa Waste Management Corporation,'' he said.
