Goa Lions beat Mahindra Rise by 8 wkts

Panaji, Mar 12( UNI) Captain’s knock of half century( 50) by Swapnil Asnodkar and his 63 runs for the second wicket partnership with Snehal Kauthankar not out 33 enabled Host Goa Lions registered 8 wickets victory over Mahindra Rise in the opening c match of the Corporate league T-20 cricket tournament organized by Goa Cricket Assocciation( GCA) at Cricket academy ground Porvorim in north Goa today. Swapnil Asnodkar was also adjudged the man of the match. Mahindra Rise, after winning the toss and elected to bat first managed to score 108 runs lossing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs with the help of K V Tawade not out 46 4x4,2x6) Sushanat Raut not out 22. Darshan Misal of 109 claimed two wickets conceding 28 runs. Goa Lions, chasing the winning target, had no difficulty to achieve the required target of 109 runs lossing only two wickets in 11 overs on the strength of Swapnil Asnodkar 50( 5x4, 2x6) and Keenan Vaz not out 33 and won the match by 8 wickets.
