Goa CM warns bureaucrats against demanding money for jobs

Panaji, Jun 20 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday warned bureaucrats against demanding money from applicants for providing government jobs.
Speaking to reporters after after meeting at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the city, he said his office had received two to three complaints about bureaucrats demanding money for securing government jobs.
He said he had got complaints that government servants were demanding money for jobs and warned that strict action would be taken if complaints found true.
“I have got two to three complaints that government servants themselves are demanding money for jobs. Strict action will be taken in these cases too. These things should stop in Goa. Bureaucrats should also stop taking money, if they do, you can contact me directly,” Sawant said.
The Chief Minister also said that around one fifth of the bureaucracy was not working.
