Goa CM inaugurates exclusive meetings and co-working space MeWO

Panaji, Nov 7 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday inaugurated MeWo, state's most plush and exclusive meetings and co-working space in the city, in the presence of IT Minister Jennifer Monserrate.
Addressing a press conference after the inauguration, the Chief Minister said it was one of the best centres to start IT business in the State of Goa and hoped that it would help IT companies and Goan people working in IT sector.
''Government of Goa has provided this type of centres but this is more advanced. They are providing all the facilities under one roof. This will be a boost for the IT sector in the state. It is not possible for everybody to have a set up like this Whatever infrastructure is required is being provided here in a small place. This will help not only the IT companies but Goan people working in IT field as well and migrating to other countries. They will get opportunity to work here in different companies,'' he said.
Ms Monserrate said said it is a wonderful idea and would help start ups in Goa and even outside.
''It will give them a great working space. Its great initiative. Start ups will not have to worry about capital investments. They can come here and work for whatever time they have,'' she said.
Srinivas Dempo, co-founder of the space, said the new venture would help not only Goan companies but companies from outside as well in setting up their shops for temporary projects.
''There is short of facilitating startup culture in Goa. Honourable CM and IT minister are very very keen that employment should be given through self employment as well as activities like start up. When I met lot of people I liked out of the box thinking of about getting not only Goan companies to set up shop here but even outside companies who may have temporary projects. I am happy to tell you that we have already signed up two start ups. Out of them one has already employed eight Goans and they are going to employ eight Goans in next month. It is a great satisfaction for me to see Goans getting gainful employment opportunities and also starting businesses on their own,'' he said.
