He said the flag off of the country’s first indigenous Sonar Dome was a proud moment for the State of Goa as it was manufactured at Kineco’s defence composites facility in Pilerne Industrial Estate, in collaboration with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) that would be installed on Indian War Ships.
Dr Sawant said it was one of the several key initiatives that was part of former Defence Minister and Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar’s vision for the state of Goa.
He congratulated to the DRDO and Kineco Goa Team.
Sonar Dome is a critical component of a Warship as it houses the Sonar (Sonar Navigation and Ranging) Array - which is considered as the eyes and ears of a Warship or Submarine, used for detection, navigation, and ranging.
