Panaji, Nov 12 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has extended greetings to all the Sikhs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Guru Nanak Devji’s followers and to all the citizens of Goa on the occasion of 550th Prakash Parab Utsav of a universal saint, philosopher, poet, Saheb Guru Nanak Devji.
In a message, the Chief Minister said Guru Nanak Devji preached throughout his life for equality, oneness, humanity and peace in the society. He was the first to fight for gender equality in India.
'His main three preachings were Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Wand Chako. It means work with your own hands honestly for your livelihood and betterment of the society, recite and meditate the name of God and share your wealth, meals etc with the needy and under priviledged. The followers of Guru Nanak Devji are not only in India but across the World. May we wish the preaching and spirituality of Guru Nanak Devji enlighten the life of all our universal brotherhood,' the Chief Minister said.
