Panaji, Sep 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju on Thursday took note of video of Goa chief swimming coach Surajit Gangugly allegedly molesting a minor girl and assured of stringent action through Sports Authority.
In a tweet, he said,' A stringent action will be taken through Sports Authority. Firstly, its a heinous crime of serious nature so I'll urge the police to take stringent penal action against the coach urgently.'
However, in another tweet, after the coach was sacked by the Goa Swimming Association, the minister said he had taken a strong view of the incident and asked Swimming Federation of India to ensure that the coach was not employed anywhere in the country.
