Goa BJP passes resolution against installation of any other statues in Assembly Complex

Panaji, Jan 22 (UNI) Goa unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday passed a resolution against the demand of installing any other statues in Vidhansabha (Assembly) Complex at Porvorim near the city and appealed all to support the development agenda of the government.
In a unanimous resolution passed in the joint meeting of the MLAs and party office bearers in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the party said,''A large number of leaders have participated in the freedom movement, opinion poll and the all-round development of Goa. Due to this request of installing their statues in Vidhansabha Complex is likely to come up in near future and therefore the Bharatiya Janata Party does not support the demand of installing any other statues in Vidhansabha Complex and appeal all to support the development agenda of the government.''
The resolution said the statue of the independent Goa's first Chief Minister late Bhausaheb Bandodkar, who was hailed a messiah of Bahujan Samaj and mass leader, had been installed at the Assembly Complex at Porvorim as per the unanimous demand of the people of Goa.
