Girls and Boys outshines each others in Meghalaya Board results

Shillong, Jul 9 (UNI) Boys outshined the girls in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Science stream with 77.76 per cent, while the girls outsmart the boys in Commerce with 83.02 pass per cent in the Class 12 board exams, the results of which were declared by the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) on Thursday.
Out of 3,566 candidates who appeared the HSSLC (science) examinations this year, 2,576 passed out with a pass percentage of 72.24. Similarly, out of 2,179 candidates who appeared the HSSLC (commerce) examinations, 1,684 cleared with a pass percentage of 77.28.
The renowned and one of the oldest educational institutions in the North East, St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong swept the first ten positions in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLC) in both Science and Commerce streams, the results of which were declared by the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) today.
St Anthony’s Kaustab Choudhury bagged the first position in HSSLC (Science) and secured 468 aggregate marks.
Komal Sharma of St Anthony's also secured the first position in HSSLC (Commerce) with 445 aggregate marks.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui took the twitter congratulating all the meritorious students of the HSSLC exams.
“Warmest congratulations to all our meritorious students of the HSSLC, Meghalaya Board exams (Science & Commerce stream). May each of you find success in all your endeavours. Wishing a bright future ahead as you move closer to your aspirations,” Sangma tweeted.
“Congratulations to all the Toppers and every student who has given their best in their HSSLC Examinations. We applaud your hard work and keep doing your best,” Education Minister Rymbui tweeted.
The Meghalaya government has allowed educational institutes to issue online admission free of cost. No decision has been taken on re-opening of educational institutes in the State so far due to the COVID-19 situation.
