Ghana President Akufo-Addo says economy is in a "bad way"

ACCRA, Feb 21 (Reuters) Ghanain President Nana Akufo-Addo said in his first state of the nation address that the West African nation's economy was in a "bad way" and the fiscal deficit for 2016 was 9 percent of GDP on a cash basis.
Restoring macro-economic stability was key to addressing the biggest problem facing the country - creating jobs, especially for young people - Akufo-Addo told parliament in his first major address since being sworn in on January 7.
"We can all see the desperation of our young people. They want to work but there are no jobs and some of them are being driven to unacceptable behaviour. We have a veritable time bomb on our hands," he said.
