GHA to organise National Himalayan Trekking Expedition from April next year

Panaji, Dec 15 (UNI) With a view of encouraging young students and youth to indulge in fitness enhancing activities, The will be organisng National Himalayan Trekking Expedition 2018 at Ghoshal –Manali, Himachal Pradesh, from April to June 2018.

In a statement here on Friday, Goa Hiking Association President Pramod Kamat said, “We are delighted to engage with young girls and boys and show them the real face of nature through these treks. I am sure they will cherish this experience for a lifetime. Goa Hiking Association is devoted to provide a holistic learning and fun experience to young students, as well as ensuring their safety through all our programs.”

Two high altitude mountaineering expeditions would be planned, namely, Ghoshal to Beas Kund (Alt 11,975 ft.) and Ghoshal to Bhrighu Lake (Alt 14,400 ft.).

Additionally, Goa Hiking Association would also engage in educational camping in the Himalayas for school students during April 2018 to June 2018.

The Goa Hiking Association, a voluntary organisation, was founded in 1974 and is recognized by Sports Authority of Goa and affiliated with Indian Mountaineering Foundation, he said.
