Kolkata, Oct 21 (UNI) Incessant rains, accompanied by occasional storms may affect the quality of footballing when three times champions Brazil will lock horns against European powerhouse and title aspirants Germany in the last quarter-final play of FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan ( Salt Lake Stadium) on Sunday night. Pounding rains affected vital practice sessions of the opposition sides largely. The rains may also impact the surface of the ground, which has been re-laid with turf to host the 10 World Cup football matches, including the 3rd place on October 21 and the final match on October 28. Brazil has prolific U-17 World Cup championship record after Nigeria, winning three times since 1997 with their last win in 2003. Since then, the South American outfit has failed to take the trophy home due to Nigerian boys. The African side has won the maximum, lifting the trophy five times, including last two editions ( 2013 and 2015). With tremendous hunger for the silverware, Brazilians are ready to take on the Germans, who,too are confident about winning the trophy. Incidentally, the German senior side is currently World Champion. U-17 World Cup presents a great opportunity for the junior side to prove to their seniors, they, too, can win. MORE UNI PC AND
