German paraplegic cyclist Stephen Wormans arrives in Nashik

Nashik, Feb 17 (UNI) Germany’s paraplegic cyclist Stephen Wormans arrived here on Monday, to raise awareness about orthopaedic disability through ‘Cyclothon 2020’.
Stephen rides his bicycle in a sleeping position, due to his disability.
The people of Nashik greeted Stephen when he arrived at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Bitco point locality of Nashik Road area. They accorded him a traditional Marathi welcome with garlands and by tying a 'pheta'(head turban) around his head. A large number of local cyclists were present on the occasion.
Stephen expressed his gratitude to the people of Nashik for giving him such a warm welcome and showering so much love on him.
From there Stephen reached the Nashik Club hotel on the Pune-Nashik road, where he was welcomed by the hotel director Rameshwar Sarada.

City-based social organisation Ratnanidhi and the Indian Merchants’ Chamber have jointly organised the Cyclothon 2020.
