Dubai, Sep 16 (UNI) Genetics and lifestyle are major causes of deaths due to cardiovascular (CVD) disease, which claims a life every two seconds, experts say.
Genetic make-up and westernised lifestyle which includes less movement and eating more of junk, are the major culprits which causes heart disease, said Professor Martin Cowe, Imperial College London and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK.
"There are perceptions that men are more susceptible to CVD than women but this is not the case," Prof Cowie was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times, a UAE daily.
