Gauhati High Court issues notices over poor road conditions in Mizoram

Aizawl, Aug 14 (UNI) The Gauhati High Court has issued notices to Mizoram government and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) following a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Mizoram Truck Owners Association (MTOA) regarding the deteriorating condition of key roads in the state.
The PIL highlights the urgent need for repairs on critical road stretches that have long been neglected, affecting transportation and the general public.
The petition, filed by MTOA President B. Lalzarzova, draws attention to several major routes in Mizoram. One of the key concerns is the 180 km stretch from Aizawl to Kolasib to Silchar via Durtlang, where large portions of the road remain in a dilapidated state. A specific section
