Ganga, a new raga, is born

Kolkata, Sep 7 (UNI) Sultan of Santoor Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya has created a new raga named "GANGA" on the holy Ganges. Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GIMA) award winner Tabla maestro and new age percussion star Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee has designed the melodies rhythm. Ganga, the audio CD was released by Padmabibhushan Girija Devi at Sangeet Research Academy, in presence of creators of the album Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee on Kristi Creation last evening. “Ganga is our life line and epicentre of our civilisation but every time we are polluting and in some places sewage water is being poured into Ganga, our sacred river. The concern for the river has reached the domain of Indian classical music,” an official of the Kristi Creation today said. After playing at almost top notch venues in the world like Royal Albert Hall, Theatre De La Vill (France ), Kremline (Moscow)etc Pt Bhattacharya has extended his hands towards social service. Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee decorated the music by his melodic Tabla . Recipient of many awards Tarun's past social works were related to Thalasemia, Polio, street children etc. Tabla maelstrom Pt. Prodyut Mukherjee offers a melodic accompaniment on Tabla tone using Base bayan. Starting from Kolkata to Varanasi this album will be released all over India where Ganga floats even in different names. To give a larger effect this album will be released from a reputed music company of USA too. UNI BM KK
