Gadkari approves 100 pc Ethanol fuel use to curb fossil fuel imports

Nagpur, June 14 (UNI) union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that he has approved the use of 100 per cent ethanol fuel, a move aimed at reducing India’s dependence on imported fossil fuels and accelerating the transition to alternative energy sources.
Addressing a press conference in Nagpur to mark 12 years of the NDA government, Gadkari said the regulatory process to legalise the use of pure ethanol as fuel had been completed.
“Last night at 8 pm, I signed the file finalising the regulations to legally authorise the use of 100 per cent ethanol,” he said.

Mumbai/ New Delhi July 17 ( UNI) Large parts of the country, covering nearly 50 to 60 per cent of the landmass, have once again come under cloudy skies as a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified rainfall activity across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and the northeastern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of these regions over the next seven days.
