New Delhi/Nagpur, Jan 19 (UNI) Nearly BJP 5,000 workers from across the country are expected to take part in the two-day mega national convention of saffron party's Scheduled Caste Morcha to be held in Nagpur on Saturday and Sunday.
The convention will be attended among others by senior party leaders Ram Madhav and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Thaawarchand Gehlot.
The event has been named as 'Bhim Vijay Sankalp' – Vinod Sonkar, BJP SC Morcha chief said and also maintained that the convention will dispel the misconception that the BJP was a party of upper castes only.
Information related to the work done by the Centre for the welfare of scheduled castes will be highlighted in the convention, party sources have said.
The convention is likely to take stock of the political situation in Uttar Pradesh especially aftermath the announcement of alliance between BSP led by former 'Dalit' Chief Minister Mayawati and Samajwadi Party of Akhilesh Yadav.
The convention will highlight the works of the Modi government for honouring icons of the Dalit community and ensured their social and economic emancipation, BJP sources said.
