New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Environmentalist G D Agrawal continued his indefinite hunger strike in the AIIMS Rishikesh for demands pertaining to the Ganga, on 112th day on Thursday.
The veteran activist, who stopped to drink even water since Tuesday, has refused to take medicine, water or any fluid/juice orally.
However, he gave written consent to doctors for administering potassium orally and drip to provide 500ML saline fluid per day to maintain minimum fluid and electrolyte need of the body, an associate of fasting saint told UNI over telephone.
Meanwhile, the crusader and his associates charged the Centre with false and misleading claims about the government's action over Prof Agrawal (now Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand's) demands.
They said that Union Minister Uma Bharti yesterday made factually wrong statement about the Centre's approval and due implementation of the demands.
"The Government has so far done nothing in respect of the demands made by Prof Agrawal", they asserted.
The IIT professor-turned-saint has been on fast since June 22, pressing for demand of pollution free and uninterrupted flow in the Ganga all along its course.
