Fuel price hike: Himachal Cong submits memorandum to Prez

Dharamshala, July 4 (UNI) Congress workers on Saturday submitted a memorandum to the President, seeking roll back in the hike of fuel prices.
The Cong workers submitted the memorandum through Tehsildar Shahpur in absence of SDM.
The protestors led by the Block Congress Committee Shahpur President Surjit Rana and State Congress Commttee General Secretary Kewal Singh Pathania.
Mr. Kewal Singh Pathania said that in the international market, the price of crude oil is $ 41 per barrel and there has been an outcry in the country about the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs. 10 per liter.
At the same time, diesel has become costlier by Rs 11 per liter. With these increased price of the petrol and diesel has created a
chaos in the country. He said that it has become a history that diesel has become costlier than petrol.
He said that Himachal Pradesh is a hilly state and the industrial area here is less than other states, while the main income here is based on
agriculture and tourism business so increase in the petrol and diesel prices will adversely affect the economy of the state which was
already shattered.
Keeping in mind the problems of common people in the state, it is very important to control the prices of petrol and diesel, he demanded.
