Friday prayers disallowed for 2nd week in Jamia Masjid in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 15 (UNI) No Friday prayers were allowed for the second successive week in the historic Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar, where curfew-like restrictions have been imposed in view of call by separatists to hold a rally in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising both the factions of Hurriyat Conference (HC) and JKLF, had urged people to attend a rally at Lal Chowk in Anantnag on Friday.
However, curfew-like restrictions were imposed in most parts of Anantnag, besides Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and downtown Srinagar on Friday as a precautionary measure to foil the rally by separatist organisations.
