Free & fair transparent byelection not possible in presence of Punjab police

Phagwara,Sept 21 (UNI) Punjab BJP President Vijay Sampla while describing Punjab Police as a “Wing” of the ruling Congress Party in Punjab, and free, fair and Transparent by-elections of Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat would not be possible in the presence of lone cops of Punjab Police for security and urged the Election Commission to hold this byelection under the security cover of central security forces like CRPF.
Talking to newsmen after attending different social functions in Phagwara, Sampla said he is writing detailed letter to CEC and demanded immediate shifting of Punjab Police officers including DSP and SHOs of Gurdaspur ahead polls as these cops were being made instrumental by the Congress to book several SAD activists including Senior SAD leaders Suvha Singh Langhah and Sewa Singh Sekhwan in false cases. Sampla told that a joint delegation of SAD-BJP met Chief Election Commission in Delhi yesterday.
He expressed his hope that the commission will act fast in the matter in the interest of justice, fair play and free election and ensure rule of law and free and fair elections in the ensuing Gurdaspur Parliamentary by-election.
