France denies working on proposal to ease EU deportation rules

BRUSSELS, Feb 21 (Reuters) France denies involvement in drafting any suggestions for easing EU human rights safeguards to make it easier to deport asylum seekers, a spokesman for the French mission to the European Union said today.
"France categorically denies having worked on such a document," the spokesman said in response to a Reuters report on a working paper prepared by German officials.
