Four policemen suspended for negligence in UP

Basti, Dec 7 (UNI) Four policemen, including a station In-charge, were suspended by the Superintendent of Police (SP) for negligence in an ICICI bank loot case in the city Kotwali area of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police said here on Saturday.

SP Hemraj Meena said here that four unidentified, armed miscreants had entered the ICICI bank branch in broad daylight on Friday and looted Rs 48 lakh.

A prize money of Rs one lakh has been announced for the arrest of the criminals.

The SP said that four policemen, including Inspector Prabhatesh Kumar, have been suspended for being negligent in performing duties. Seven police teams have been formed under the leadership of senior officials for the arrest of the miscreants.

Mr Meena said the aforementioned incident is identical to the bank loot cases that happened in Ambedkar Nagar and Maharajganj districts in the past few days.

Police is seeking help of the cops of the two districts for solving the case.
