Four MPs betrayed TDP: leaders

Vijayawada, Jun 20 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leaders have come down heavily on the four MPs, who quit the party and joined the BJP alleging that they betrayed the party.
Former minister Devineni Umameshwara Rao, P Pulla Rao, Kalva Srinivasulu, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao, quit TDP for their own political mileage.
“The 4 MPs have not only betrayed the party but also breached the trust of TDP leadership. When party national president N Chandrababu Naidu is on foreign tour, they quit the party. People of the state will not forgive them” senior leaders slammed.
The TDP leaders ridiculed MP Sujana Chowdary’s explanation that they joined the BJP to be part of nation building. They said that they had never expected that the four MPs quit the TDP within one month of election results were declared.
TDP state president K Kala Venkata Rao alleged that the BJP leaders conspired against the TDP to split the party.
Meanwhile, the TDP senior leaders admitted that the quitting of four MP has sent shock waves in the TDP, which suffered rout in the election. TDP national president and former Chief Minister on his Europe visit and will be back on June 25, TDP leaders said.
