Four killed, one injured as poultry-laden goods carrier collides with lorry in TN

Tiruvarur, Aug 15 (UNI) Four persons were killed and another one seriously injured, when a poultry-laden goods carrier rammed into the rear side of a stationary blue metal-laden lorry at Neduvakottai near Mannargudi in the district on Saturday.
Police said the deceased were identified as Venkataraman, driver of goods carrier, Chandrasekhar, Venkatachalam and Shibu, a native of West Bengal.
The driver of lorry ferrying blue metal from Karur to Mannargudi parked the vehicle on the roadside to check the air level of the tyres, when the poultry-laden goods carrier going to Thiruthuraipoondi from Palladam lost control owing to over speed crashed into the rear side of the lorry.
