Four gamblers arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 15 (UNI) Four gamblers were arrested and stake money was recovered from their possession in Srinagar, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said on a credible input about gambling activities, a police party from Police Station Nigeen raided a gambling site at Saderbal area in Srinagar.
Four gamblers, identified as Farooq Ahmad Zargar, Tariq Ahmad Sofi, both residents of Saderbal, Mohammadd Yousuf Khar, resident of Kander Mohalla Ashai Bagh and Shabir Ahmad Mir, resident of Mirza Bagh Saderbal, were arrested by police.
He said over Rs 9,000 stake money has been recovered and further investigations into the matter has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law, he said, adding that community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.

Bhopal, Feb 19 (UNI) Law-enforcement authorities of the future will be equipped with technology instead of weapons, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Wednesday while emphasising that the force shall have to familiarise itself with the latest techs and learn to adopt the same.
“My dispensation will extend all possible support to personnel in this direction. I hope that in future the Madhya Pradesh Police shall become so skilful vis-a-vis utilising emerging applied science that it would be an ideal for other states. Economic growth also brings with it monetary transgressions. Those in khaki need to recognise the nature and tendency of such offences. Harmony among limbs of governance is imperative for quality results,” he was officially quoted as saying while addressing the Indian Police Service Officers’ Conclave 2020 at the imposing Minto Hall here.
