Moradabad, Jun 22 (UNI) Four people of a family were found dead in a mysteries circumstances in Rajpur Keseria village under Dilari police station here, police said on Tuesday.
Police, on Monday evening recovered the bodies of Rajendra, his two sons and a servant from a small basement built under a room of villager Rajendra Singh's house.
The police took the four bodies in possession and sent them to Moradabad for post-mortem.
The deceased were identified as Rajendra (50), his two sons Harkesh (30) and Preetam (25) and their servant Ramesh (40).
Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that Rajendra Singh used to make and sell raw illicit liquor. A year ago, 250 boxes of illicit liquor were recovered from his house, after which he was sent to jail.
After coming from jail, Rajendra Singh again started the work of making illicit liquor with his two sons. Even on the day of the accident, he was drinking illicit liquor.
At the same time, Rajendra Singh along with his two sons and servants fainted one by one with some poisonous gas. For a long time, when there was no sound from inside, Rajendra Singh's wife Phoolvati, who was sitting outside, reached there and saw all four in a state of unconsciousness.
The people who reached approached the father-son and servant, but there was no movement in anyone's body and a strange smell was spread there, due to which people were also having trouble breathing. After this the people of the village informed the police.
The police, who reached the spot, had guessed after seeing the situation that 4 people had died due to the spread of some poisonous gas. The police reduced the effect of the gas spread there by sprinkling water there and pulled the four people out of there. But by then everyone had died.
On receiving information about the death of four people, Moradabad SSP Pawan Kumar reached the spot and called the team of forensic department and ordered to start investigation after collecting evidence.
