Forward Bloc opposed NRC move

Agartala, Sep12 (UNI) India Forward Bloc Tripura state committee opposed the demand of NRC across the country based on legacy data and urged the government to employ existing laws to identify the illegal residents living in India.
The state party chief Shyamal Roy alleged that NRC exercise in Assam utterly failed because of politically motivated actions.
“There are several laws and Acts in India to identify the illegal nationals but the way it was done in Assam created an endless trouble for the people who had been excluded. We don’t want the same exercise in other parts of the country.”
Mr Roy alleged,"The country has been passing through a tough time. The economic situation of the country is also deplorable. All the industries are facing a slump. At this point of time, NRC is fueling communal tension between tribal and non-tribal people of Tripura."
He also demanded assured jobs for the youth and asked the government to deliver what BJP promised before coming to power in Tripura.
