Fortified police stations to be constructed in Maoist dominated areas in Bihar

Patna, Dec 13 (UNI) Bihar government today decided to construct 28 fortified police stations in the Maoist dominated areas in the state.
A proposal to that effect was passed in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Briefing media about the cabinet decision, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Secretariate) Sanjay Kumar said here that 28 fortified police stations would be set up under special infrastructure scheme to deal with the menace of left extremism in the state. The cabinet gave administrative approval to the new scheme worth Rs 70 cr and also for spending the allotted sum for the construction of fortified police station at the cost of Rs 2.5 cr per fortified police station during the current financial year and subsequent fiscals.
