New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Former President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday tested positive for COVID.

This information was given by Mr Mukherjee in a tweet.

The former President requested the people who came in contact with him in the last week, to self isolate and get tested for COVID-19.

'On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,'the former President tweeted.

Pranab Mukherjee is the latest among the high profile dignitaries to test positive for COVID.

Earlier this month , Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal tested positive for COVID19.
