Former Delhi University Professor G N Saibaba passes away in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) Former Delhi University professor and human rights activist G N Saibaba passed away at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad on Saturday night.
He was 57.
Saibaba, known for his activism, writing, and academic contributions, had been suffering from illness for some time. He breathed his last at 2045 hours on Saturday.
Saibaba was arrested in 2014 for alleged links with Maoist organizations. In 2017, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Gadchiroli Sessions Court. However, on March 5 this year, the Bombay High Court acquitted him and ordered his release from Nagpur Central Jail.
The wheelchair-bound professor spent over seven years in prison after his initial arrest in May 2014.
