Former Congress MLA Sawana Lakda passes away in RIMS

Ranchi, Oct 14 (UNI) Former Congress MLA from Khijri Vidhan Sabha seat of Jharkhand
assembly Sawana Lakda passed away this evening at Rajendra Institute of Medical
Sciences here.
The MLA who had been battling various health related diseases breathed his last at
1810 hours at hospital.
Lakda was elected twice from Khijri seat first in the year 2000 and later in 2009.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee chief Dr Rameshwar Oraon has expressed
his deep condolence over the passing away of the former MLA and said that Sawana
Lakda in his life had worked honestly for the Congress Party and his contribution can
never be forgotten.
He said that his demise is not only a loss for the party but for the entire state.
JPCC spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said the body of the ex-MLA will be
brought to the Congress office at 11 am tomorrow where the Congress leaders will
be paying their tributes thereafter in the afternoon his last rites would be performed
in his ancestral village of Kawwali.
Among others Congress legislature wing leader Alamgir Alam former MP Pradeep
Balmuchu Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Prasad Sahu former Union Minister Subodh Kant
Sahay and other leaders have expressed their grief.
