Former CM Congratulates BJP & SKM on their by-poll victory

Gangtok, Oct 24 ( UNI) Former Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has congratulated all the three candidates on emerging victorious in the by-polls in 3 constituencies.
''BJP & SKM alliance has won, I congratulate them. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP are congratulated on behalf of Sikkim Democratic Front party,’' said Chamling, here today at SDF party head office. He was accompanied by the former Speaker KT Gyaltsen, former MP PD Rai and other party functionaries. He said that SDF is a responsible party and has been playing a responsible role of opposition in Sikkim.
‘I accept the responsibility of SDF losing by-polls’. This was the lucky day when former CM PK Chamling decided to address Gangtok print media after summoning them, instead of keeping away at the last moment for 5 times from May ’19 onwards.
When questioned on Pok Lok Kamrang results, Chamling said, '' It was Victory of Individual ( PS Tamang CM) not the party. He asserted that Sikkimese Janta will pay for their activities later. As far as BJP winning Martam Rumtek and Gangtok constituencies, is concerned, they have voted in favour of ruling there.''
Answering a question on the possibility of BJP winning 2024 Elections in State he said, ‘It is too premature to answer it’. He claimed that SDF was loved more than SKM in Sikkim.
Chamling lamented that there was no civil society in Sikkim. If people could remain neutral they would be able to create good opinion. He stressed on freedom of media. He assured always serving the interest of people of Sikkim and protecting him.
