Former BJP MP Baikunth Lal Sharma passes away

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) BJP's veteran leader and former MP Baikunth Lal Sharma 'Prem' passed away here on Saturday.
He was 90.
Sharma, who was twice elected as a MP from the North East Delhi parliamentary seat, breathed last at his residence, here at BK Dutt Colony near Safdarjung.
He first won the parliamentary election in the year 1991 by defeating veteran Congress leader Harkishan Lal Bhagat, and then retained defeated Congress' Deep Chandu Bhagat in 1996. Sharma had again contested in 2009 but lost to Congress' Jai Prakash Aggarwal.
Sharma also played an important role in the Ram Mandir movement.
