Chandigarh, Nov 10 (UNI) Augmenting competition in the fast growing SUV segment, US auto stalwart Ford on Friday launched its all new and powerful compact SUV EcoSport with more than 1600 changes priced at Rs 7.31 lakh here.
Speaking on the occasion here, Ford India Finance Controller Satish Verma said, "The new EcoSport has been comprehensively redesigned with more than 1,600 new parts, featuring rugged new looks, sleek interior makeover, a raft of ingenious technologies and a new engine, offering more power and efficiency."
The new EcoSport, comes with best-in-class power, safety, convenience and value proposition, delivers significantly more at the same price. It is another game-changing product from Ford that, like its predecessor, raises the bar for compact SUVs, he said and added that the compact SUV market share is around 16 per cent of the total car sales in the country and EcoSport has grabbed 20 per cent out of it.
"The success of vehicle can be well imagined that we have sold over two lakh EcoSport in the country and exported the even numbers of this vehicle to 50 plus countries since year 2013 it was launched and soon to start exporting it North America," Mr Verma added.
The petrol version of EcoSport will deliver outstanding fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl with seven per cent reduction in CO2 emissions and 23 kmpl in diesel.
