For R-Day 'Kisan Tractor Parade',AAP workers gather mass support on bikes across Punjab

Hoshiarpur, Jan 23 (UNI) The activists of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by their District President Sandeep Saini and City President Ajay Verma, on Saturday took out motorbike and scooter rally in the city to mobilise people for a proposed tractor march of the farmers on the Republic Day in Delhi.

The activists staged protest at various places throughout the route. They raised slogans against the Central government and in support of farmers. The motorbike and scooter rally which started from their party office passed through main bazars including Clock Tower, Mall Road, Sutehri road etc.
Talking to UNI, Ajay Verma said today's rally had been organised to mobilie people for their support to the farmers in their ongoing agitation against the controversial agricultural laws of the Central Government and their participation in the proposed tractor march.
He added that the purpose of this rally was to appeal to the people to participate in the 'Kisan Tractor Parade' on the occasion of Republic Day proposed by farmers' organisations in Delhi, so that more and more people could join the tractor parade and could shatter the pride of PM Narendra Modi-led government, which had done a deal of the farmers under a settlement with the corporate houses.
He said that for the first time after the independence of the country, there would be such a procession where on one hand the 'jawans' would parade and on the other hand the farmers of the country would parade with their tractors on the Delhi roads.
Mann said on this historic occasion, thousands of party workers, all the MLAs and office bearers of the Aam Aadmi Party would take part in the 'Farmers Tractor Parade' and would encourage the farmer brothers of the country. He added that the AAP would not be participating in the parade as a political party, but as a true serviceman and would try their best to help the farmer brothers sitting on dharna. "Today, our country is going through a very critical period and all the rights enshrined in the Constitution are being trampled on by the ruling dictator PM Narendra Modi government," said Mann.
The AAP leader said the Constitution gives the right to protest peacefully and to speak; but the Modi-led central government was somehow trying to take away that right. Mann further said it was the basic duty of every patriot of India to join the 'Kisan Tractor Parade' to save the Constitution. "For the last several months the country's farmers have been protesting against the centre's anti-farmers agriculture black laws. But instead of yielding to their demands, the Union government is trying to stigmatize the farmers' movement by branding them as terrorists, traitors, agents of Pakistan and China," said Mann.
He said what could be more proud for a democratic country than the fact that millions of farmers had been peacefully agitating for the last two months and the agitation had created a new history all over the world while on the other hand, the Modi government was defaming the country by spreading propaganda against the peacefully agitating farmers. He added that the Modi government should listen to the legitimate demands of the farmers and immediately repeal the black laws.
