New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Under persistent pressure from former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister
Omar Abdullah, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday "withdrew" his comment earlier that the PDP and National Conference had announced boycott of local body elections in the state at the behest of Pakistan.

"Now that you deny any external pressure I take back my comment," tweeted Mr Ram Madhav in response to angry outbursts from Mr Abdullah, who said by such comments the BJP leader was showing "disrespect" to the sacrifices of thousand of National Conference workers.
Mr Abdullah sounded his displeasure on the remarks of key BJP leader at his press conference in
Srinagar.
"I dare you Ram Madhav ji to prove your allegation. You have RAW, NIA & IB at your command (CBI too is your parrot) so have the guts to place evidence in the public domain.
'Either prove this or be man enough to apologise. Don’t practice shoot & scoot politics," Mr Omar Abdullah had tweeted.
The National Conference leader also wrote: "....misplaced attempts at humour won’t work. You HAVE claimed my party has been acting at the behest of Pakistan. I dare you to prove it! Place the evidence of your allegation of NC boycott of urban local body polls at Pakistan behest in public domain. It’s an open challenge to you and your Govt".
Earlier, Mr Madhav had taken to micro blogging site and wrote: "Just take it in your stride Omar Abdullah. Not questioning your patriotism at all. But the sudden love between NC and PDP and the hurry to form government leads to many suspicions and political comments. Not to offend you".
In a subsequent missive, Mr Madhav said his observation on Pakistan interference was only a "political comment and not personal".
"Now that you deny any external pressure I take back my comment, but, now that you proved it was genuine love between NC and PDP that prompted a failed govt formation attempt, you should fight next elections together. Mind you its political comment, not personal," the BJP leader wrote.
The exchange of missives between two leaders took place on the backdrop of BJP leader Ram Madhav stating earlier that the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP and National Conference boycotted local body polls last month because they had "instructions" from across the border.
"Probably they had fresh instructions from across the border to come together and form government," Mr Madhav had claimed.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday evening dissolved the state assembly after reports surfaced that National Conference, PDP and Congress would come together to form a new
government in the militancy-hit state.
