Yadgir, Aug 8 (UNI) The flood situation is expected to worsen in Krishna basin districts like Yadgir and Raichur as Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd (KBJNL ) has discharged large amount of water to the river Krishna from Almatti and Narayanpur Basavasagar reservoir after the both the dam received a heavy amount of inflow on Saturday.
According to information received on Saturday evening, the officials discharged 2.20 lakh cusecs of water from Basavasagar reservoir after the dam received the same amount of inflow from the Alamatti dam in Bagalkot district.
Water storage in the dam in Alamatti has reached a near-full capacity of only 2 Mt , while Narayanpur reservoir already reached its full capacity (492..25 Mt ) following heavy inflow owing to torrential rainfall in Maharashtra.
